OSMOSIS TREATMENT OF TROTAMAR III

Blisters filled with liquid that smells like acetic acid. The green colour is the copper painting. I hat painted it on 2002 and in the last 8 years I only cleaned it every two years with pressure water. The painting is the original. That’s why I decided that after the treatment it should be painted again with copper.

The whole hull is and sand blasted. The hydrolysed points can be recognised on the first photo.

The hull is cleaned daily with fresh water during 2 weeks; afterwards it had to dry out. During the drying period daily the humidity was measured. After 4 week the hull was dry. No dehumidifiers where used and the hull was not protected against the environmental conditions.
The chaise d'arbre was bended by a rope that went into the propeller years ago. Now was the time to replace it.
