Photo 160; This shows the modification of the battery locker to hold additional batteries and also positive and negative main busses. By removing the ridges in the bottom of the battery box I am now able to fit (8) of these batteries. Each is a 6 volt battery with 100 amp hour capacity. When I install the other 6 they are connected in series and parrallel to achieve 12 volts with a total capacity of 800 amp hours. In the aft section of this locker I built a shelf to hold a size 4D battery for the engine starting. This is oversized but its excess capacity can be used for other puposes if needed. We intend to add 540 watts of solar panels and a charge controller to charge the batteries without having to use the engine.
